Blake and Jessie Married!: Holston Hills Country Club – Knoxville, TN

It was Jessie’s wedding day and as she opened the door of her mother’s house to let me in, she gave me a big hug and exclaimed, “Come on in! It’s total chaos in here!” Indeed, it was. However, it was a good kind! As Jessie fluttered about, giddy as a little school girl, I began to scope things out. As I walked through the house, I noticed a large amount of family photos on the walls. Everything seemed to hold sentimental value and history. It was a house full of love. As Jessie was having her make-up applied, her bridesmaids stood around chatting and gushing over the Royal Wedding. Family and friends were in every room and the anticipation was quickly building. As I wandered into the kitchen to grab a few ring shots, Jessie’s mother and I got to talking about Blake. “Oh, I just love Blake,” she said. “He’s my other son.” After chatting for a bit more, I went to find Jessie. In the course of our conversation, I asked, “So . . . how was the rehearsal dinner last night? . . . Emotional?” “Oh yeah,” she said, “it was all good until Emma gave her toast and brought Blake to tears. Then it was all over. haha!” “I don’t know,” she said, “they just have this bond.” Emma is Jessie’s younger sister. In that moment,

everything seemed to be coming together in my mind. From the conversations I had with Blake and Jessie throughout this process to witnessing their relationship behind my camera to the bits and pieces of information dropped by family and friends, something clicked. For the Sousa women, Blake was the calm, the band-aid to end tears, Mr. Fix-it, and a reason to laugh. During the ceremony, the priest explained that during Jessie and Blake’s pre-marital counseling he had wanted them to write a love letter to one another that he would read . . . perhaps to confirm if their love was true. Again, I found what was said interesting. Blake wrote that life would be normal yet boring without Jessie. With Jessie by his side, he would always be on his toes as she can turn anything simple into a complex wonder . . . perhaps from her creative genius. Indeed, Jessie is complex with many layers. She is like a little ball of stress wrapped in a whole lot of goofy. Blake and Jessie are perfect complements to one another. Although they are both hilarious, they even each other out in other ways. I can’t wait to see where this life takes these two! However, for now, let’s reminisce. Click HERE for a slideshow as well.

I’m sure Jessie will return the favor in the future :) undefinedTotally gorgeous, right?! undefinedIt was an emotional first look.  Bless those little tears . . .

It was total last minute as there wasn’t a planned exit.  Within seconds it seemed as though guests formed a tunnel for Blake and Jessie to run through.  Caught off guard, I dove under the crowd as Jessie “slid into home” on her knees.  LOL! LOL! The end. undefined
